REVAMP operates WEEE collection services on behalf of several Producer Compliance Schemes (PCSs). Our role is to clear WEEE containers at Local Authority Civic Amenity Sites and Recycling Centres, and from various other locations including premises of major retailers and a wide range of other businesses in the West of England and its bordering counties. Click here for a map of the area we cover (we collect from households and businesses in the area bounded by the blue line, and we collect from businesses only within the area bounded by the green line). Click here for a list of the postcode areas in which we operate. We will consider collecting from further afield - please contact us if you wish to discuss this.

The WEEE which we collect is taken to our depot in St Philips, Bristol, where we assess its potential for reuse (not all WEEE is waste!). We look particularly carefully at fridges, freezers, fridge/freezers, washing machines and cookers as these are all appliances in high demand from needy families across the West of England. We refurbish suitable appliances in our workshop and then pass them across to our parent charity, SOFA Project, for sale at low prices to families and individuals on low incomes. Whenever we have a surplus of refurbished appliances we pass them on to other members of the Furniture Reuse Network in the South West of England.
WEEE which is not suitable for reuse is sorted at our depot and deposited in containers for removal by our recycling company partners, which include SIMS in Newport, South Wales. We normally remove batteries, cables, plugs and other hazardous items for separate disposal, in the course of our sorting processes.
Our activities in our Days Lane Approved Authorised Treatment Facility are licensed by the Environment Agency under Waste Management Licence No EAWML/26193 dated 5 June 2006. On 30 May 2007 we were approved by the DTI to function as a Designated Collection Facility for WEEE and on 15 June 07 the Environment Agency approved our application to be considered an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) (Approval Number WEEE/BK/0002ZS/ATF).
We do not just collect WEEE - we welcome deliveries of it too! Our depot is registered as a Designated Collection Facility for the receipt of WEEE brought to us. The terms on which we accept WEEE depend on the nature of the originator - please go to the links for Businesses, Retailers, and Householders for details.
